The L Word – The Complete First Season

This is how it all started — the lesbian cable TV series that took the world by storm. Showtime took a chance that just maybe, if they put time and money into a series about gay women, it might have an audience. Obviously it paid off big time.

2 Seconds

2 Seconds is about Laurie, a woman who is kicked off her downhill mountain bike racing team. She moves to Montreal and develops a contentious friendship with a grumpy ex-cycling champion who now builds bikes. This is a well-received character driven story.

The humor ranges from subtle tongue-in-cheek to outrageous camp. Obsessed dog owners and show staff each provide their own entertaining take on the dog [...]

Futurama

The original, brilliant, four seasons of Futurama include 72 episodes of 31st century fun, liberally laced with political and social commentary a la Matt Groening. Itty Bitty Titty Committee

Bad lesbian cinema attempts to explore post-feminist social politics. Poorly conceived and executed, but nonetheless popular with the younger crowd. Plot: young heartbroken lesbian joins a post-feminist micro-cell; vandalism, bickering, sex and more heartbreak ensue. Proof that the bar for lesbian cinema is low enough for a limbo contest. Watch it if you like youthful anger and rebellion, riot grrrl music or if you just need to see a slice of young lesbian life. Enthusiastically acted.

Okay, so this is really more of a gayboy movie, but it’s still a whole lot of singin’, dancin’ queer fun. Good mixed-crowd [...]

Soapdish – Movie Review

SOAPDISH
Review by: Jennifer Brooks
Rating:
This is a smart, funny, fast paced comedy. Lots of movies that just plain suck are tagged “comedies” in attempts to trick people into watching them. This isn’t one of them; Soapdish is the real deal. It’s great the first time around and has a very high repeat viewing value.
